Coordinator of Food Services – Temporary Part-timeCentrally located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Kings RegionalRehabilitation Centre (KRRC) serves some 200 adults and children with physical, intellectualand developmental disabilities, mental health and social challenges. KRRC employs over 600professional and support staff on a casual, part and full-time basis, making our organizationone of the largest employers in the region. Staff are employed both within the main Centre andin smaller, community options homes.Responsible to the Manager of Food and Nutrition, this position works 22.5 hours weekly andis a temporary position to fill a maternity leave. In conjunction with the Manager and supportfrom the Food Service Supervisor you are accountable to supervise the preparation and serving offood to clients and staff, ensuring the food and service is of high quality and delivered in aprofessional manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of Kings RegionalRehabilitation Centre (KRRC).This position ensures that the Food Services area is safe for clients and staff, complies withapplicable legislation and regulatory requirements as well as scheduling staff, participates inthe hiring of new employees and provides leadership, coaching and problem-solving supportto the staff team.KRRC provides a competitive salary and vacation based on the successful candidatesexperience in the field, and an attractive pension plan.Required Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university with a major infood and nutrition and/or food service administration Licensure with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association preferred Supervisory experience an asset Experience with staff scheduling and payroll an asset Ability to promote and enhance positive, collaborative working relationships Excellent communication, organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed, self-motivated Analytical and critical thinking skills that will enhance problem solving and decision-making Creativity and flexibility in approaching issues/concerns A commitment to hold in confidence all matters pertaining to clients, staff, KRRC and tomaintain a high degree of professionalism at all times. Committed to continuing education, sharing knowledge and developing the potential in others Basic proficiency with technology and a willingness to obtain additional skills as requiredfor role Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s strategic direction and to the principles of theUN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) Required to provide criminal record check with vulnerable sector check Fully vaccinated against Covid-19.Please forward your application including cover letter and resume, along with 3 professionalreferences via email to Human Resources by 4:00 pm August 10, 2022.
