Job Description

Nursing Supervisor - Full-Time Posting #22-017 -(Internal and External)Centrally located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre (KRRC) serves 200 youth and adults with physical, cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health and social challenges. KRRC employs over 600 professional and support staff on a casual, part and full-time basis, making our organization one of the largest employers in the region. Staff are employed both within the main Centre and in smaller, community options homes.Nursing Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring high quality of nursing care for 220 clients living In-Centre and Community Options. Working as a collaborative member of our medical, nursing and leadership team, the Nursing Supervisor provides direction and support to front-line staff and clients consistent with the mission, vision, and philosophy of Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre (KRRC).Responsible to the Director of Care (In-Centre) and Director of Client Care (Community), the Nursing Supervisor is directly responsible for clients, staff and building safety for KRRC evenings and weekends. Also coordinates client care and services in collaboration with interdisciplinary team.KRRC received Accreditation with Commendation from Accreditation Canada. We are seeking a Nursing Supervisor who is committed to this high standard and continued quality improvement on behalf of clients and staff.Qualifications:A graduate of a recognized program in Nursing and valid licence registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN);Administrative management courses and/or Management/Supervisory experience is an asset;Strong leadership abilities, must be able to communicate effectively with others given scheduling restrictions and able to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment;Knowledgeable and experienced in areas of client care practices, as related to persons with intellectual and physically disabilities, mental health issues and behavioral challenges and youth at risk is an asset;Ability to make decisions which are of a critical nature and which demonstrate excellent judgment ability;Possesses analytical and creative critical thinking skills that will enhance problem solving and decision-making;Ability to promote and enhance positive, collaborative working relationships;Able to work twelve- hour shifts including day, overnight, weekdays and weekendsRequired to provide criminal record check with vulnerable sector checkKRRC offers a comprehensive salary and benefit package, to commensurate with qualifications and experience. along with a signing bonus in the amount of $2000.00 ($1000.00 at time of hire, and $1000.00 after one year of service).
