Reporting to the Senior Manager of Community Services, this position will be managing recreational programs/services at the West Vancouver Community Centre, Ice Arena and responsible for department wide Marketing and Customer Service. Develop workplans and job performance expectations, evaluates and coaches staff, develops succession programs and initiatives and addresses labour relations issues.· Allocates resources to ensure programs and services meet community needs, are efficiently delivered, and revenue projections are achieved;· Prepares and implements facility and service area annual operating budgets and contributes to the development of capital budgeting and corresponding operating budget impacts;· Providing management direction to employees by planning, assigning and supervising work· Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.The preferred candidate will possess: a Degree in recreation administration, business administration, the social sciences or other related discipline and considerable related work experience in recreation including supervisory and administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.The successful candidate will lead a high-performance team; talk openly with others, establish expectations, hold self and others accountable, support group decisions, share credit, build enthusiasm for goals, and resolve conflict appropriately; foster development of others through coaching and managing performance; possess a genuine desire to help teams succeed; formally and informally recognize deserving staff and colleagues. Possess business acumen; stay leading edge in their field; understand organizational challenges (internal and external). Achieve desired results by encouraging the contribution of others; be a proactive and positive team player who acts with a sense of urgency and leads by example; anticipate, respond and attend to the needs of staff, community and other stakeholders.The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable Police Information Check and a copy of their credentials.
