Job Description

Temporary (2 years), Full-Time, ExemptLocated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation and arts amenities. Our dedicated staff deliver services, operate facilities and run the programs that enhance the well-being of our community.The District of West Vancouver’s Legislative Services Division has an immediate opening for a temporary (approximately 2 years), full-time Records/FIPPA Analyst to assist with the administration and implementation of the corporate Records and Information Management Program, including:Assisting with corporate records storage, retrieval, maintenance, review, & processing;Preparing authorization for destruction forms and assisting in the records destruction process;Assisting with Central Index System revisions and development; andAssisting with the development and provision of corporate records training and related training materials.Receiving, logging, tracking, processing, and managing FIPPA requests;Corresponding with FIPPA applicants, third parties, and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner;Reviewing, analyzing, and redacting records to ensure legislative compliance;Updating website and intranet with pertinent FIPPA/records information; andOther assigned duties as required.The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary diploma or greater degree in a related field, supplemented by certifications in Records Management or FIPPA plus related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate will also possess the ability to: perform detailed work accurately and efficiently; meet strict deadlines; interact tactfully and effectively with the public; maintain effective working relationships; communicate in a clear and concise manner; work well within a team; maintain complex records; and perform diversified tasks with minimal supervision.The preferred candidate will possess considerable knowledge of both Records Management and FIPPA, including applicable legislation, rules, regulations, and best practices. Extensive experience and/or training in Microsoft Office and with web-based communication tools is considered an asset.The successful candidate is required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials.This posting does not list all the duties of the position, nor does it fully detail the required skills, knowledge and abilities, licences and certificates required of candidates.
