Your Opportunity:Wetaskiwin Hospital is hiring for the vital role of COVID-19 screener. Using your excellent communication skills and focus on patient and family centered care, you will be working at the main entrance to our facility and will be the first interaction patients and visitors will have. You will guide patients and visitors through established screening protocols ensuring the safety of patients, staff and visitors. Wetaskiwin is located 70 km south of Edmonton in the heart of Central Alberta. The city name comes from the Cree word which means “the hills where peace was made”. You can take a self-guided tour through the historic downtown and read about the peace cairn that commemorates sixty years of peace between the Blackfoot and the Cree. Wetaskiwin has an extensive trail system that leads you around the entire city with a direct connection to By-the-Lake Park. Year round markets provide citizens and visitors with fresh fruit, produce and many different homemade items. The Manluk Centre offers swim lessons, Fitness programs and Aquatic Leadership courses, as well as party facilities. There’s always something to do in Wetaskiwin. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic.
