Job Description

The Assistant Cook is responsible to the Head Cook to ensure a high standard of service delivery for the FoodServices Department. The position includes food preparation and handling, dining room and cleanliness of foodservices areas.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyman cook preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of preparing meals for senior populations
  • Considerable experience in group / institutional cooking
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • WHMIS and First Aid training required
  • Food Handling course required
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Responsible for the preparation of food
  • Assist in menu planning
  • Assist dietary staff where required
  • General organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room, housekeeping and food storage areas
