This role supports the Research Scientist in maintaining, overseeing and executing the dailyoperations of our advanced Aeroponic laboratory.Tasks & Responsibilities1. Execution of horticultural/ agricultural duties (germination, propagation, transplanting,harvesting and general plant maintenance)2. Daily opening and closing of lab3. Maintaining daily logs/plant records - data collection and analysis4. Mapping out life cycles of plants and their placement in the system5. Manage and maintain proper lab and growing environments6. Support research scientist in terms of experiments/ projects7. Report irregularities and follow supervisor guidance in minor system troubleshootingof mechanical agricultural systems8. Prepare systems and food for lab tours9. Maintain a clean and organized working environment10. Support entrepreneurial staff/volunteers11. Other tasks as directedSkills/Requirements1. Reliability – must ensure that critical steps are taken on opening/closing2. Self-starter attitude3. Strong communication and analytical skills4. Adaptable and flexible5. Strong attention to detail6. Ability to work independently and in a team environment7. Interest in plants/agriculture8. Must have transportation to and from the worksite.9. Following lab safety guidelines and protocols as laid out by the Research ScientistQualifications1. Degree/certificate in Agriculture/Horticulture or on a degree path preferred but notrequired2. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs3. Knowledge of how to manage plants/common plant diseases preferred but notrequired4. Familiarity with horticultural irrigation systems preferred but not required5. Ability to work on your feet for most of the day6. Basic knowledge of mechanical procedures7. Comfortable working with basic electrical, air and water systems8.
