Job Description

REGIONAL ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR - WETASKIWINADMISSIONS AND SUPPORTSNorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone who can find ways forward in the coordination of regional stakeholder feedback to ensure our regional campus programs, supports, and services work collaboratively region, engaging with city and municipality officials, workforce consultants, Indigenous community partners, and NorQuesters in the Wetaskiwin, Drayton Valley, and Whitecourt communities including those in surrounding Indigenous communities.Reporting to the Director, Admissions and Supports, the Regional Engagement Coordinator assists NorQuest in maintaining our presence as a meaningful and responsive educational partner in rural settings within the Stewardship region in Alberta, impacting student success, resilience, and retention ensuring learners access to education is improved, unique experiences understood, and distinct barriers addressed. Working primarily at our Wetaskiwin campus and directly with community stakeholders across the NorQuest campus community, the Regional Engagement Coordinator travels to rural communities to align partner’s needs with their local setting.HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Engage with municipalities and other levels of government to ensure the regional programs, services, and educational offerings are responsive to identified labour and educational needs and community interests.
  • Drive the active promotion of regional educational programs and services to partners.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate surveying of community needs, undertaking a comprehensive analysis and reporting of partner-identified needs to inform and shape strategic direction of regional campus offerings.
  • Coordinate and work alongside the Indigenous Relations & Supports team to understand and respond to the needs of surrounding Indigenous communities, engaging in ways that support Indigenous self-determination.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate projects and initiatives based on community partner feedback and insights.
  • Work collaboratively with NorQuesters and working groups to address identified needs and unique barriers for rural learners.
  • Administer and coordinate community engagement activities to support priorities and strategic initiatives with local community and Indigenous partners including organizing, planning, and supporting events and participant attendance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Cengage ed2go offerings, negotiating the scope and reach to provide opportunities for regional learners to learn and grow in a wide array of areas and interests, maintaining relationships with faculty leads and ed2go to ensure programming remains flexible and responsive with multiple modalities and offerings.
  • Work with Continuing Education and Partner Solutions to ensure effective and responsible stewardship across the region, working collaboratively with the client relationship management systems to improve coordination of engagement and communication.
  • Facilitate and lead a Regional Workforce Task Team to help deepen understanding of regional needs, providing the best possible service to community partners and strengthening relationships across the region to establish and maintain a meaningful presence.
  • Commit to learning about Indigenization, decolonization, and the application of anti-racist and anti-oppressive lenses to the development of practices, learning, and working environments.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Certificate or diploma in a related field (e.g. human services, social sciences, etc.).
  • Undergraduate degree is an asset.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with community partners and stakeholders in rural and regional settings.
  • Developed and demonstrated skill working collaboratively with stakeholders, campus community partners, Indigenous peoples and communities, and other Post-Secondary Institutes.
  • Ability to travel to rural partner locations.

SALARY: $2,022 - $2,627 biweekly ($52,573 - $68,302 annually). This is a full-time term position to May 30, 2022 with immediate access to our great benefits program.We offer flexible work options.
