Job Description

BioVectra Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.BIOVECTRA has an opening for a Maintenance Planner. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Windsor, NS.The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining CMMS databases, ensuring that all changes are reflected in the CMMS and updating maintenance procedures to reflect current policy.
  • Gathering equipment field data ensuring that “As fitted” matches the CMMS and equipment documentation.
  • Promoting “Safety First” Principles in the updates to work instructions.
  • Verifying the inclusion of safety documents (JSA’s, LOTO’s, Confined Space etc.) within the CMMS database.
  • Sourcing equipment information and data for the Maintenance group utilizing the CMMS database, equipment binders, and technical drawings.
  • Scheduling maintenance work and coordinate shutdowns with Production Planning and operations.
  • Ensuring all work instructions, work history, parts inventory, training records, QA procedures are documented within the CMMS. Ensure that all changes in documentation are reflected in the CMMS. Updating QA procedures (maintenance) and updating departmental work instructions in Unipoint.
  • Updating the Equipment database and equipment files.
  • Ordering parts for the maintenance department.
  • Providing technical support relating to the operation of the Maintenance Department.
  • Coordinating and leading backlog meetings to control department schedule.
  • Scheduling, planning, communicating, and coordinating all maintenance activities.
  • Building bill of materials for spare part inventory.
The successful candidate for this position should have
  • Five years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • Industrial electrical and mechanical equipment experience.
  • Industrial maintenance environment experience.
  • Technical drawings and writing experience.
  • Post-secondary education in a related engineering or mechanical field.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills: computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), and database management would be an asset.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
