Job Description

BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for a Quality Control Microbiologist Student. This is a 4-month term (May- August) located in Windsor, NS.The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Environmental monitoring throughout facility.
  • Performing routine maintenance and calibration of microbiology lab equipment.
  • Implementing of USP<61>, <62>, and <71> on a variety of products and samples.
  • Preparing samples according to USP monographs, general chapters, and in-house SOPs.
  • Completing paperwork for the release of materials, including status labels and certificates of analysis.
  • Complying with documented safety practices for the laboratory and the manufacturing facilities.
  • Performing chemical analyses when required.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Biology or related field.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to switch easily from project to project.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with professionals and technical specialists in related disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
