Join us.AECOM is searching for a Senior Inspector for municipal infrastructure projects.This is a full-time position based in Windsor, ON. Projects primarily consist of road reconstructions, land development, water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution, sanitary and storm pipelines, and water resources.The successful candidate will be assigned to a project based on their skillset and area of expertise.Project assignments can be in and around the Essex County Region.The responsibilities include but are not limited to:Liaison on site with contractor, client, other approving authorities, including addressing resident concernsOversee daily on-site operationsWork closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager, to ensure construction is in compliance with project specificationsPreparation and maintenance of daily work logs and other project documentation and reporting;Schedule and conduct regular project meetings with the contractor and clientProvide clarification of drawings and direction to the contractor, with remote support from the Project EngineerResponsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.Carry out surveys and measurements for quantity calculationsComplete surveys for the preparation of record drawingsParticipates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Completion and Final Acceptance Certificate; andTraining of entry-level employees. Minimum Requirements:4+ years of relevant experience in a field role on water infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationDriving license and access to own vehicleCertified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.); Certified Technician (C.Tech) or in the process of obtaining certification.Surveying experienceStrong computer skills (Word and Excel)Candidate will be required to follow AECOM Safety Policies and promote them by exampleAbility to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specificationsAttention to details is essential skillExperience working around mobile heavy equipmentFamiliar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination servicesAbility to work unsupervised in a remote locationAbility to document inspection and prepare field reports Preferred Qualifications:Managing civil, water and wastewater construction projects greater than $2 MCertified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC)Projects of the same type, e.g. road reconstructions, land development, water distribution systems, sewage collection systems, sewage pumping stations, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects, etc.Construction methods of open cut, watertight closed sheeting, vertical trenching and all other trenchless technologiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAutoCAD and Civil 3D is an assetSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.About AECOMAECOM is the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle – from advisory, planning, design and engineering to program and construction management.
