SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES is assisting a major automotive OEM in hiring a Value Optimization Engineer to join our growing team in Windsor, ON.This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA. Support the cost effective design and development of the company’s vehicle programsLead Technical Cost Reduction (TCR) efforts for assigned vehicle programs to ensure the achievement of corporate TCR targetsDevelop vehicle cost reduction strategies which engage all functions within the vehicle development processManage the TCR database and provide executive reports for vehicle cost reduction statusDevelop and maintain vehicle work plans to achieve cost reduction change within the program management team and devise timely implementation through the change management processFacilitate vehicle idea generation events such as hoist reviews, teardowns, workshops, assembly plant walks, and down-select meetingsAnalyze technical vehicle engineering specifications and drive cost effective changes without negative impact on vehicle quality and performance Bachelor’s degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related, and 5 years of experience in job offered or a related positionExperience in analyzing 3D models using Unigraphics NX from a technical cost perspective; experience in benchmarking system and component designs against competitors to reduce costsCollaborating cross-functionally on DFMEA and technical cost reduction opportunitiesExperience in developing and identifying technical cost reduction opportunities with the Vehicle Development CycleEvaluate Total Cost Business Cases for project approvalAnalyze profitability against vehicle work plans to achieve cost reduction targetsReminder : This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA.
