Job Description

MatrixHR is currently looking for dedicated and proactive Project Coordinators to join our clients team. In this role, you will work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and Foremen supporting projects in a hands-on capacity.

  • Northern Ontario or Northern Manitoba projects.
  • Hybrid role, (office and site-based), rotational basis, fly-in and fly-out, 20/10 schedule mainly.
  • Projects: Schools, personal care homes, water treatment plants, retail and commercial buildings, healthcare facilities etc.
  • Salary Negotiable.
About the Role:
  • Healthamp; Safety Compliance: Follow all requirements of the company health and safety program and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with field personnel to resolve construction-specific issues and ensure information is accurately presented for proper installation
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with technical specifications, project drawings, and regulations.
  • Project Administration: Assist in pricing change orders, reviewing shop drawings, coordinating with subcontractors, and performing other administrative duties.
  • Documentation: Maintain job diaries, site photos, and project documentation aligned with contract deliverables and company file structures.
  • Project Monitoring: Track production, hourly work, and key project milestones.
  • Reportingamp; Invoicing: Help prepare RFIs, NCRs, change orders, daily reports, and other essential project reports. Assist with invoicing and monthly reporting documentation.
  • Scheduleamp; Cost Control: Create and manage critical path method (CPM) Primavera schedules, assisting the Project Manager in enforcing the construction schedule and cost controls.
  • Punch Listsamp; Closeouts: Help develop punch lists and assist with project close-out reports for final sign-offs.
  • Site Meetings: Attend project site meetings as required to provide support and gather necessary information.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the construction industry on buildings and infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Completion of a construction-related degree or diploma program is an asset.
  • Experience with scheduling software (MS Project or P6) is required. Familiarity with digital construction tools (e.g., BIM, VDC, Drones) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Strong ability to think critically and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
