Join an innovative, growing, and diverse organization where your voice matters.THE POSITION:A dynamic, goal-oriented individual, the Purchasing Manager will lead our procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services needed to support the company’s growing supply chain requirements. This role will oversee the purchasing and material planning teams and collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and finance to support new product introductions, vendor development, and inventory optimization. HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT:
  • Oversee timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services, ensuring the right parts/services are delivered at the right time, at the right location, and at the right cost.
  • Leverage strong MRP knowledge to plan and manage inventory levels, production schedules, and purchasing activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize inventory turns, minimize obsolescence, and ensure material availability to meet production/delivery schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any delivery, quality, or pricing issues proactively.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Utilize strong import-export expertise, including customs compliance, duties, taxes, tariffs (e.g., USMCA Rules of Origin, HTS codes) to reduce international shipping risks.
  • Manage and mentor a team of buyers and material planners, fostering professional growth.
  • Leverage a solid understanding of financial terms relevant to purchasing, including landed costs, standard cost, payment terms, currency exchange impact, and budgeting to protect and enhance the company #39;s bottom line.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO YOU REQUIRE:
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive procurement experience, including 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, and inventory control best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, understand financial terms, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage time, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Certification such as SCMP, CPSM, or CPIM is an advantage.
