Join our team and help us keep communities connected.Your OpportunityThe role of a Junior Bridge CAD Technician / Technologist is to work as a team member on small and large projects under direct guidance and supervision. Work will include performing a variety of drafting tasks related to civil structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, roads and other civil projects. Working in our Winnipeg, Manitoba office, you will be given the opportunity to further develop your skills in while growing and having a say in the development of your own career at Stantec.Your Key ResponsibilitiesUsing your knowledge of drafting practices and CAD platforms you will work closely with other CAD Technician / Technologists, engineers, and senior designers to complete the following tasks:- Develop 2D and 3D CAD design models following CAD standards.- Develop CAD preliminary design and construction drawings following CAD standards.- Complete design redlines markups and ensure reviewer comments received are corrected and addressed.- Plotting final drawing products for submissions.- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials- Proficiency with software programs Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Working knowledge of Bentley products, MicroStation, and Inroads would be a desirable asset.- Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Working knowledge of Bluebeam would be a desirable asset.- Working knowledge of basic quantity and take-off calculations, such as volume and area.- Basic understanding of roadway design principles and concepts would be a desirable asset.- Ability to work with others on routine and complex tasks and projects.- Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.- Ability to understand and implement CAD standards.- Participates in interdisciplinary coordination.- Effective written and verbal communication skills.- Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.- Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.Education and Experience- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Minimum 0 - 2 years of experience. This is an entry level / new graduate position. Previous summer/intern experience would be considered an asset.Typical office environment is working with computers at a desk.
