Picture yourself as the newest member of our talented finance team at the Enterprise Business Services office. As the Finance Manager, you #39;ll be part of the Cash Management team. Our team handles all things cash - from paying vendors to system configuration, processing large-scale PAD transactions, and working closely with Loblaw Technology to ensure important payment and system processes are operating smoothly. The vision for this role is to have the Finance Manager coordinating closely with senior management, finance stakeholders, and their direct reports in managing the organization’s cashflow. With this close collaboration, you will have a fantastic opportunity to continue optimizing the team’s cash flow processes, develop your financial reporting and forecasting skills, strengthen relationships with multiple departments across the organization, and streamline our overall cash management approach. Our goal is to maintain the highest payment control standards, payments efficiency, maintain data quality, and consistently develop an environment for the team to develop their skills. Interested Here’s what this role entails! Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing a team of direct reports, coaching and developing colleagues, and assisting them in reaching their fullest potential.
  • Working closely with our Loblaw Operations, Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaw IT, and Treasury stakeholders to ensure organizational banking setups are completed on time.
  • Working closely with our internal technical teams, with a continuous improvement and process mapping mindset to make the team’s roles easier and reduce manual work.
  • Working closely with our management team in negotiating with our key banking partners, having a seat at the table in feedback sessions and improving our banking relationships.
  • Working closely with Loblaw IT in SAP #39;s test environments, ensuring data integrity, and playing a key part in downstream business processes working correctly.
  • Working closely with our FP amp;A and Treasury groups in reporting cash accurately, developing models for cash forecasting, and working with large data sets.
  • Developing standard operating procedures, develop sound finance processes, and flex your presentation skills in training/mentoring your direct colleagues.
  • Analyzing problems, understanding complex financial issues, and providing recommendations to management.
  • Coordinating closely with our Accountingamp; Controls groups on audit best practices from a cash management perspective.
  • Various other duties as required.
The candidates should possess the following skills:
  • A minimum of 3+ years of previous applicable industry experience, or a combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in managing or mentoring colleagues and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Knowledge of cash management, banking, and treasury best practices required.
  • Understanding of financial forecasting methodologies is preferred.
  • Understanding of Power Query, Power BI/data modelling is preferred, and technical understanding of automation tools.
  • Ability to analyze processes, develop efficiencies and initiate constructive solutions.
  • Strong English presentation and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and coordinate with a team.
  • Advanced experience with spreadsheet applications, word documents and email (office suite), Power Point, Visio.
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner.
  • Understands how decisions are made and how they affect other work units.
  • Previous experience in SAP would be considered an asset (production and testing environments).
