We #39;re looking for a mission-driven Program Lead, Vision Mate (AWAH) who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.Your Impact at CNIB

  • Recruit, train, engage, and actively manage an integrated team of volunteers who will be accountable for delivering vision mate(s) to seniors aged 55 and older.
  • Develop and implement operational standards to ensure policies, procedures and practices respond to changing conditions in the marketplace and improves efficiency and competency.
  • Develop implementation plans to maximize the success of CNIB’s Vision Mate and Vision Mate programs in local markets including the growth of existing CNIB programs, working within national service deliver standards and program curricula.
  • Lead and manage outcome evaluation processes for the program in the region, using a national framework to meet goals of the Aging Well At Home funding agreement.
  • Build strong and positive relationship with program participants, and seek insight into their unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.
  • Proactively encourage program participants to take advantage of other CNIB programs and services that may benefit them.
  • Act as a liaison at all levels with external community partners, agencies, donors, volunteers, staff and clients to support and implement the Aging Well At Home project goals.
RequirementsWho you are:Education and Certifications
  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. Social Work, Volunteer Management, etc.).
Experience and Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience working and managing volunteers to deliver programming.
  • A track record of successful people management involving leading, managing, and motivating teams of staffs and volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to plan and deliver clear communication to a dispersed audience.
  • Working knowledge of national volunteer organizations with a branch, region and/or membership-based structure.
  • Effectively demonstrates understanding and championing of diversity and accessibility issues.
  • Experience in developing service delivery models.
  • Experience in delivering training workshops and devising and delivering presentations.
  • Establish connections to leadership groups and organizations in the regions.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Good relationship/team builder and networking skills with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem definition, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven time management, planning, coordination, and organization skills.
  • Proactive in initiating multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Professional attitude, results oriented, strategic, and flexible.
Work Environment
  • In-person.

  • Willingness to work from different locations.
  • Travel will be required.
