Job Description

Founded in 1964, LArche strives to shape a more human and just society where each person’s gifts and contributions are recognised and celebrated.Position Summary: The Community Engagement Coordinator is a new role that will focus on the development and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships in our wider community, and will create the capacity we need to generate alternative and sustainable income. In summary, the role holder will grow existing alternative revenue channels, and will create new opportunities to engage with our community, enhance our visibility and reputation, form financial and in-kind partnerships, and generate new income to support the continued growth and health of L’Arche Homefires.We are looking for someone who values genuine relationships, is a confident communicator, is innovative, creative, and willing to think outside of the box.Location: L’Arche Homefires is a large, dynamic, diverse, and energetic community. We have five homes and an Independent Living Support program spread throughout the Wolfville area. Our day programs and offices are located at the L’Arche building at 341 Main Street in Wolfville.The Community Engagement Coordinator will be based at the office on Main Street, and will also spend time in our homes.Major Duties and Responsibilities: · Learn and understand the Identity and Mission of L’Arche, and adhere to the core documents of L’Arche Homefires, including our core values, key traditions, policies, procedures, etc. Maintain confidentiality as required.· Develop and lead the Community Engagement Strategy for L’Arche Homefires, identifying and delivering a multi-faceted approach to relationship development, partnership formation, donor acquisition, and income generation. Articulate our approach to achieving increased awareness of our role in our community, and the various ways our community can support us.· Establish a comprehensive suite of communication and engagement tools, policies, and procedures, including partnership agreements, business plans, campaign guidelines, grant application templates, etc. Seek opportunities to raise awareness about L’Arche Homefires, and enhance our reputation in our community.· Oversee the development of all marketing and communication materials, including the quarterly newsletter, advertising, direct mail, etc. Ensure effective and audience-appropriate engagement through various social media channels. Analyse effectiveness of communication methods and campaigns.· In conjunction with the Community Leader and Finance Coordinator, assist with annual budget forecasting, and development of campaign-specific budgets. Operate within and report against approved budgets. Contribute to the annual financial audit as required.· Proactively identify relevant internal and external stakeholders, develop and maintain mutually beneficial and genuine relationships. Support stakeholders to become actively engaged with our community, beyond the limitations often associated with a “business relationship”. Ensure our stakeholders and donors feel valued, appreciated, and involved.· In conjunction with the Finance Coordinator, oversee the donor management processes, and maintain an up-to-date and accurate donor database. Maintain comprehensive records of all formal and informal financial and in-kind partnerships, all fundraising and income generation activities, and other community engagement outcomes.Qualifications, Skills Needed and Position Requirements: · Previous L’Arche experience desirable but not essential (assistant, board member, volunteer, etc).· Post-secondary degree or certificate preferred. Relevant experience essential, including income generation and fundraising, event management, donor acquisition and relationship management.· Fluent in spoken and written English.· Clear police check including vulnerable sector screening.· Independent self-starter, who can develop this new role to achieve our vision.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident public speaker.· Creative and innovative, seeks opportunities for development and growth.· Advanced computer skills, preferably including Office 365, and particularly Word, Excel, and Publisher.· Shows initiative, has excellent attention to detail. Solution-focused.· Is highly organised, able to set priorities and follow-through on commitments in a timely fashion.· Ability to be flexible and adaptable, and to manage competing work priorities.· Can remain calm and focused in times of uncertainty and crisis, and can give clear directions.· Works collaboratively, models and promotes conflict resolution, and is appreciative of others’ efforts.· Comfortable working as part of a team, while being self-driven and motivated.· Ability to problem solve, assist in reaching solutions and obtaining necessary resources.How to Apply: Please submit your resume, including a minimum of two references, along with a cover letter outlining your desire for and fit with this role by 5:00pm on Sunday, November 6th, 2022.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $43,300.00-$44,678.00 per yearBenefits:
