Job Description

Competition #22-29-AU:Acadia seeks a Development Officer, Annual and Planned Giving in the Office of Advancement to generate financial support for Acadia through various fundraising programs.The Development Officer will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of revenue goals through supporting other staff and through personal success in fundraising efforts specifically in the areas of annual and planned giving.To fulfill these goals, the Development Officer will provide leadership in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of charitable gifts in support of specific projects. They will be required to manage the direct mail and planned giving programs while maintaining up-to-date contact reports. The Development Officer will also prepare and present proposals for prospective donors, provide outstanding stewardship, and contribute to the overall fundraising strategy for the University.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • We are seeking a candidate who is skilled in relationship building, and in creating, developing, and presenting proposals.
  • A solid record in fundraising and stewardship is essential, along with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other staff and volunteers.
  • This position is best suited to a person with a background in business, marketing, communications and/or sales. A bachelors degree in these areas is preferred, along with a minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Experience in gift planning vehicles and direct mail will be considered assets, as is an Acadia degree and/or CFRE.
