We are a Property Development company with developments in Wolfville and Kentville, and we are looking for a Junior Tile Setter to join our team, and work with us on several projects. The Junior Tile Setter would work closely with our Project Manager at the early stages of joining our team. You will get the chance to work with your supervisor, learn new skills, and allow us to evaluate your experience level. You will then be ready to work on different job sites as required.A Junior Tile Setter must have some knowledge and experience in tiling techniques, a good eye for detail, and good communication skills. To ensure success with us, after a short period of training (if needed), the Junior Tile Setter would be able to install tiles to meet the needs of our projects, with minimal supervision.What your responsibilities will be: - Measuring the area that must be tiled to determine stock requirements- Assisting administration and supervisors in ordering stock supplies- Gathering tiling equipment needed at job site- Cutting and shaping tiles to size- Cleaning and leveling the surface area- Applying tiling cement and arranging tiles according to design plans- Applying tiling grout and cleaning off excess- Conduct a post-installation inspection for quality- Other tasks as requiredWhat the requirements are: - Previous experience as a tile setter is recommended as we are looking for someone with 1-2 years of experience in setting tiles.- High school diploma is NOT required- Positive attitude, and a team-first mentality- Ability to work as a team, or as an individual- Good communication skills- Basic carpentry skills- Basic math skills- Ability to operate hand and machine cutting tools- Knowledge of tiling designs and installation techniques- Ability to work crouching or kneeling for long periods- Good problem-solving skillsWhat we can offer you: - Full-time work (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday- All-inclusive benefits package with health, dental, vision, and life insurance- On-the-job training- Positive team environment- Growth opportunities within our company- Housing opportunities- Relocation cost reimbursement- Competitive pay, starting at $18 an hour, and increasing based on the experience you bring- Growth and learning within our team is encouraged, and rewardedIf you believe this role could be a good fit for you, please share your resume with us.
