Competition #21-15-AU:Acadia seeks a Payroll & Benefits Administrator in the Human Resources Department to support the payroll and benefit functions of the department. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Administrator will audit payrolls, complete reconciliations on group insurances and pension, and administer retiree benefit payments. Specific responsibilities will include:complete bi-weekly and monthly reconciliations on all group insurances and pensionbalance and submit monthly payment remittances to all Acadia insurance carriersprovide options to employees to prepay benefits when on leaveprovide post-payroll reports to NS Pension Services Corpvoucher monthly remittances to NS Pension Services Corp.; prepare reports and balance to General Ledgercomplete T4A's as requiredmaintain records of all retirees and employees on LTD who carry health benefitscompile and send invoices for retiree health premium paymentscollect premium payments and submit to Financial Services, send receipts for payments received.audit the monthly and bi-weekly salary & hourly payrollsprepare ROE's and letters confirming employment for lending institutionsassume responsibilities of Payroll Officers in times of absence, and assist with payroll data entryrespond to inquires as requiredQUALIFICATIONS:Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in either business or office administration, combined with related work experience in payroll processing and benefits administration. Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) certification will be considered an asset.We are seeking a candidate who is comfortable working in a team environment where assignments and processes are closely integrated with the work of others.Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to meet deadlines and work within a collaborative environment.Demonstrated ability to work to a high level of accuracy, maintain confidentiality, and be flexible to regularly changing priorities is necessary.Experience with database management and automated payroll systems also required. Familiarity with Colleague (Datatel) an asset.Must be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.THE REWARDS: Acadia offers a comprehensive benefit package in addition to a starting salary of $43,541 per annum (AUPAT Level 4).
