Job Description

Rafuse Home Hardware group of stores located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia has an opening for a full time Purchaser for 5 stores. In this position you will be a part of an experienced Home Hardware team primarily responsible for re-buying hardware and building supply store items. The ideal candidate would have some previous building supply and hardware knowledge in construction & renovation materials. Other skills this candidate must have is a good mind for numbers and meeting deadlines, good with paperwork and a good communicator with vendors.JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Run weekly suggested orders for the stores. Some weekend work possibly VPN from home.
  • Run weekly flyer orders for the stores.
  • Must understand deadlines.
  • Manipulate mins/maxes in our system to reflect our customers needs.
  • Add and subtract items to the suggested order.
  • Walk each store to identify problems with inventory levels.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships-some negotiating required.
  • Oversee the cycle counting process in all stores.
  • Willing to go to trade show events if and when they come back on.
  • Communicate with Managers and Owners daily on what is coming in for products.
  • Work 1 large inventory count per year.
