Job Description

Competition #21-60-AU:Acadia seeks a Systems Analyst in Technology Services to provide smooth operation and safe, secure computer systems for Acadia University. This role will maintain and improve software systems, document and train for the organization, and provide technical support. Working within the Technology Services Department, specific responsibilities of the position include:

  • Analyze how well software, hardware and the wider IT system fit the needs of the institution.
  • Conduct regular reviews of systems, release notes and roadmaps to generate reports on potential efficiencies and improvement areas for departments.
  • Research and document application issues by conferring with clients, evaluating procedures and processes.
  • Help implement solutions by evaluating and documenting alternative workflows, producing specifications for new or modified systems.
  • Create system guidelines/manuals, run training sessions and workshops on system processes, and provide end user support training.
  • Provide tier-two support for Service Desk staff using the ITSM system to manage incidents.
  • Act as a liaison with software vendors and Enterprise Systems Administrators to track and resolve problem situations.
  • Support system integration and security activities in conjunction with members of the Technology Services team.
QUALIFICATIONS:We are seeking a candidate who has a Bachelor of Computer Science, Computer Systems Analysis, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Intelligence or a similar field of study with experience and skills in the following areas:
  • Demonstrated ability creating and managing User Documentation.
  • Integration may require coding and knowledge of SQL server.Experience with Active Directory.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, problem analysis, and documentation skills with the ability to handle parallel projects and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, consultation, and communication skills with an ability to both apply policy and take direction is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with an open-minded proactive approach to problem solving.
