Job Description

Can Art Aluminum Extrusion is a privately held North American based extruder of standard and custom aluminum profiles. Can Art has grown from a single press operation in 1988 to the multi plant, multi press operation that we are today.We have built a reputation for uncompromised quality, responsive service, and a commitment to growth in the markets we service across North America.We have an immediate opening for Forklift Operators at our Brampton Extrusion Plant.Schedule: | 12 hour shifts || Rotational (2 weeks on days, and 2 weeks on nights) || Continental (2 days on, 2 days off,amp; every other weekend) |Dutiesamp; Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all quality related policies, procedures and system requirements.
  • Establish forklift is in good working condition.
  • Perform forklift maintenance checks each day before start-up and end of day.
  • Supervise and provide billets for presses before they run out.
  • Ensure all age ovens are loaded and unloaded in a timely manner.
  • Stack material without causing damage to the load below it.
  • Ensure all aluminum scrap bins at saw locations and presses are emptied half hour before end of each shift.
  • Assure all paper work is complete and follows the material to the next stage.
Skillsamp; Qualifications:
  • Must have a valid Counterbalance (Propane) forklift license through a recognized institution
  • Ability to work rotating and continental shifts
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating a forklift
  • Experience in the automotive, aluminum extrusion or similar industry where wide and heavy loads need to be transported an asset
  • Good attitude and clear communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Good knowledge and record of safety, quality and productivity around the aluminum extrusion press
  • Basic computer skills required.
