Job Description

With over 3,800 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, AGI is a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities.The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Estimator to join our dynamic team in Woodbridge, ON. As a Project Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing quotes and managing the quoting process for several quotes including complex and high-value capital industrial projects. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and timely completion of quotes.The ideal candidate should have experience in quoting and pricing for single machines, services, parts, and capital projects, along with a strong understanding of intercompany cost allocations. Exceptional analytical and communication skills are a must.Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end quoting process for single machines, services, parts, and small and large industrial capital projects, primarily in the food industry.
  • Review and analyze customer project specifications, technical drawings, tender documents, RFPs, RFQs, and other relevant documentation to accurately assess project requirements and develop customized designs in collaboration with the design department and detailed scopes for small and large capital projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, technology, automation, electrical installation, procurement, and finance, to gather necessary information and develop comprehensive project quotes and pricing.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting P amp;ID schematics and 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings. Experience using AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Conduct cost analysis and estimation, considering labor, materials, equipment, services, installation, supervision, start-up and commissioning, subcontracting services, and other relevant factors.
  • Utilize industry-specific tools and software to create detailed and competitive high-value capital project quotes, as well as single machine and service quotes.
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure the best pricing and terms for the company.
  • Work closely with the supply management team to ensure best practice pricing.
  • Develop and maintain a pricing database to track historical data, cost trends, and benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, services, and other stakeholders to develop standard quotes and pricing, facilitating faster response times.
  • Monitor market conditions and industry trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Support the sales and consulting team during client interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all quoting activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and processes.
  • Review and understand equipment capabilities and capacities, utility and infrastructure requirements.
  • Lead and ensure best practice risk management processes according to company standards
Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of previous pricing and quoting management experience.
  • A University Degree in Engineering is preferred or a technical diploma with apprenticeship or financial/economic further education will be considered.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal, collaborative, and team-building skills; able to partner with individuals with different personalities and responsibilities. Also, adaptable, confident, persuasive, proactive, accountable, and enthusiastic.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Understanding of food plant Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs), area designations, clean design requirements, and their impact on process and equipment layout designs is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
  • Possess cross-department collaborative and team working skills.
