Job Title: Production SuperintendentLocation: Brantford, ON, CanadaVACANCIES - 1TRAVEL REQUIRED - Travel not requiredVISA SUPPORTSALARY MAXIMUM - CAN$133,980.00RELOCATION PACKAGE - FullMust-Haves Post Secondary Education in business, science or engineering 5–7 years #39; Manufacturing and Operations experience in the Paper Industry Strong understanding of OSHA requirements Computer Skills in Microsoft Office suite Excellent leadership skills i.e., communication, Nice-To-Haves Leadership experience in a Manufacturing Environment (non-union) Technical skills working with machinery and equipment in a paper mill Operations skills in a production environment i.e, KPI #39;s, budgets, hiring etc. Scheduling teams and planning based on a 12-hour rotating shift Leading continuous improvement initiatives Job DescriptionReporting to the Plant Manager, this position is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, material handling, cost performance, employee relations in a high-performance work team environment, capital improvements and budget preparation. The Job demands monitoring production performance and implementing processes, procedures, and methods to improve results in all key functional areas. This important role is responsible for implementing and maintaining best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance for all production activities. What You’ll Be Doing: Ensure the safety of all employees; lead a comprehensive safety program to prevent injuries Comply with all applicable provincial and local environmental and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Develop subordinates through education, training, and teamwork Assist in preparation of annual plant operating budget Meet or exceed plant productivity, cost, or other performance metric expectations as outlined by plant manager Hire, train, direct and mentor staff with diverse language, cultural and educational background. Lead plant in continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S with safety, 6 Sigma, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing. Coordinate production scheduling to meet customer demands, to manage overtime, to minimize inventory, and to reduce costs Support quality initiatives to ensure product meets or exceeds customer expectations. Build and maintain productive employee relations, driving employee satisfaction. Identify, propose, and implement capital projects to improve operational performance. This position will be located at our Brantford Paper Mill.We’d love to hear from you if you possess the following requirements: Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in business, science or engineering, or a related field.
