Relief, Crisis and Outreach ClinicianDirect Service - Regulated (OPSEU)Relief, CasualWoodstock, Ontario (Oxford Zone)- Application Deadline: November 4, 2024-When individuals in our community experience an urgent mental health or addictions crisis, they deserve a response that is person-centered and supportive, while focusing on personal dignity and wellbeing.Our Crisis and Outreach Clinician provide a therapeutic response for individuals requiring crisis intervention to support community-based alternatives to medical intervention.Consider revitalizing your career and making a difference in your community by joining our team!Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within the last six months. In order to avoid delays in beginning a position, interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible.WHAT WE #39;RE OFFERING:

  • What you #39;ll be making - Starting rate for this role is $29.57 per hour (Level 1 of the Direct Service - Regulated Grid);
    • Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8, $36.71 per hour
    • Internal applicants will be placed on the grid based on their seniority
  • When you #39;ll work - Hours may vary; days/evenings/nights; weekdays and weekends.
  • Your pension plan –Immediately eligible for optional enrollment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:
  • Establish a working and supportive relationship with the consumer
  • Assess clients’ mental, physical and emotional functional abilities and needs and investigates consumer’s present resources through complete psycho-social history and domains collections, and collateral information
  • Provide client assessment, intervention, and counselling via telephone and face-to-face
  • Teach, using a variety of approaches, life skills and adaptive techniques which will enable individuals to more effectively function on a day-to-day basis
  • Act as a resource to other service providers in the Oxford County area
  • Provide crisis follow-up to ensure appropriate linkages are made to services and supports
  • Ongoing professional skill development/continuing education towards the delivery of mental health and addiction services
WHAT YOU #39;LL NEED TO APPLY:Police Vulnerable Sector CheckSuccessful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within the last six months. In order to avoid delays in beginning a position, interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible.We require the following qualifications:
  • RPN, RN,Bachelor #39;s or Master #39;s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology or related fieldis required
  • Currently registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the College of Nurses of Ontario, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, or the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Access to a vehicle
  • Current, clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
  • Ability to attend work regularly
We prefer the following qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of Recovery principles
  • Knowledge of community services in Oxford County
  • Ability to develop short-term treatment plans in conjunction with the individual
  • Ability to advocate for and coordinate service access with clients
  • Crisis Management/Intervention Skills
  • Knowledge of Narrative Practices in Single session therapy
  • Knowledge of the Recovery model
  • Knowledge of attributes of serious mental illness and pharmaceuticals used in the treatment of mental illness
  • Knowledge of Legal system
  • Experience working with individuals with an ABI or Development Disability
  • Treatment of Addictions
  • First Aidamp; CPR
