Arctic Response Canada Ltd.Your National Safety Training LeadersPosition Title: Administrative AssistantLocation: Yellowknife, NTDuration: Full-time, PermanentStarting Salary Range: $20.00 to $25.00/hourStart Date: July 2022The Company: Arctic Response Canada Ltd. is a fast-paced and dynamic work environment staffed by team of talented, friendly, supportive people. We’ve been providing elite safety training to individuals and organizations across the north for almost 20 years, and currently offer a catalogue of over 150 different field safety, industrial safety, first aid, environmental, and driver training programs. With an additional office in Edmonton and contract instructors across the country, our national reach has allowed our programs to become the national training standard for multiple federal government departments. In addition to training, we provide numerous consulting and operational services such as wildlife monitoring, medic services, mould remediation, environmental monitoring, and more.The Position: The Administrative Assistant role is critical to our success. As the demand for our training programs and operational services keep our personnel extremely busy and traveling across the North, we rely heavily on our Administrative Assistant to provide stability, consistency, and support from the Yellowknife office. You will serve as the first impression of Arctic Response to our clients, andResponsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, answer phones, receive and respond to emails from clients
  • Respond to student inquiries and process registrations
  • Manage training records including database
  • Perform basic invoicing, processing of payments via POS, issuing of receipts
  • Support instructors by preparing course materials and equipment prior to training and processing course paperwork following training
  • Booking flights, accommodations, vehicles, etc. for traveling personnel
  • Manage Yellowknife based crew housing
  • Running errands as required (bank, post office, purchasing office/training supplies, etc.)
  • Shuttle staff to/from airport, hotels, etc.
  • Monitoring inventory of office and training materials
  • Potential growth into additional responsibilities such as business development, proposal writing, course and curriculum development, instructing,
  • Additional reasonable responsibilities may evolve as operational demands require
Requirements
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Independent problem-solver
  • Must work well in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Extremely reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Able to successfully manage multiple job tasks with minimal direct supervision
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Chrome)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including attention to spelling and grammar
  • Great customer service skills
  • Prior work experience in a professional office environment
  • Grade 12 High School Diploma (minimum)
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
