Job Description

Tlicho Safety & Security (TSS) is seeking a highly experienced Security Manager to oversee the management of operations and staff of our newly established security services, and to develop and implement security strategy, policy and procedures both throughout the Tlicho Investment Corporation group of companies, and external service delivery throughout the Northwest Territories.As Security Manager, you will demonstrate excellent surveillance, emergency response, and hazard/threat identification skills and experience, and require a disciplined and strong commitment to establishing, communicating, implementing and enforcing policy and procedure with the ultimate goal of creating and preserving environments where employees, visitors, clients and property/assets are well-protected and safe.This role is based out of Yellowknife, NT, with frequent travel/work in communities and worksites throughout the Northwest Territories.Responsibilities

  • Collabora witteh organization-wide managers and clients to determine security needs.
  • Plan and implement comprehensive security strategies.
  • Develop and manage the security operations budget, monitoring expenses, and documenting processes.
  • Supervise, recruit, and train security personnel.
  • Gather security intelligence and implement preventative measures.
  • Develop work schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor personnel performance.
  • Coordinate responses to emergencies and alarms, as well as compiling incident reports.
  • Prepare surveillance equipment maintenance schedules and facilitating repairs in a timely manner.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and advancements in security services.
  • Develop and implement security policicies, protocols and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and security industry regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events.
  • Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms.
  • Review reports on incidents and breaches.
  • Investigate security breaches, draw conclustions, make recommendations and decisions for further actioning.
  • Create and present reports for management on security status.
  • Develop, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators.
  • Analyze data to form proposals for improvements.
  • Participate in new business generation and work proposal submissions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Provincial-prescribed security training, licensing, and registration.
  • Submission of confirmed Criminal Records Check or recent fingerprint results.
  • Valid Class 5 license and submission of drivers abstract.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Immunization (to access client work-sites upon which this is still a requirement)
  • At least three years experience in a similar management role in the fields of security and/or law enforcement.
  • Extensive experience in preventing illegal activity and performing access control.
  • In-depth knowledge of security procedures and surveillance equipment (i.e. CCTV).
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, communicating and enforcing policy and procedure.
  • Knowledge of security industry regulations.
  • Advanced ability to coordinate responses to security breaches and threats.
  • Superb leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Availability to respond to security alerts outside of regular business hours.
  • Emergency response planning experience.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis.
