Department InformationThe Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies. Upon moving to Yellowknife, you’ll find a welcoming community that quickly becomes home.The Programs and Services area provides a broad range of expert and professional services to support the business of government for all GNWT departments, boards and agencies as well as the public and is highly internal and external client service focused. In this role, you will be providing leadership and oversight for the delivery of programs and services to the Directors of Information Technology; Corporate Information Management; Compliance and Licensing; and Air, Marine and Safety. The position also oversees the department’s overall Occupational Health and Safety Program.Additional responsibilities include:

  • overseeing the establishment and operation of stand-alone business structures within the department including Fuel Services and Marine Transportation Services.
  • delivering essential public services to northern communities and destinations dependent upon the public sector for the provision of fuel for heating and power generation as well as for the marine delivery of dry cargo
  • working in collaboration with the ADM, Asset Management and ADM, Regional Operations to provide a high level of fully integrated planning, technical and administrative support to front line regional program delivery services at all times.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • A relevant degree; and,
  • 10 (ten) years of experience in an infrastructure system environment, including four years at a senior management (i.e., Director) level.
