Coordinator, Document Control

About the roleAll progress begins with pioneers. At Rio Tinto, it begins with you.We are looking for a Coordinator, Document Control who will be responsible for development, implementation, and administration of operational document control systems to maximize efficiency, meet changing business needs, and align to global standardized requirements.This position is a great opportunity to grow your capability at an interesting location.Reporting to the Supervisor, Personnel Logistics and CMX and working in a challenging and exciting environment, the incumbent works a 2 week on, 2 week off rotation at the Lac de Gras Mine Site. You will be responsible for:
  • Managing document control records and administer systems; including but not limited to SharePoint, Documentum (WebTop and RM)
  • Performing quality assurance for controlled documents, such as correct document number, title, revision, effective date, and approvals
  • Maintaining the Document Control System for timely management of documents requiring review and/or approval and providing notification upon receipt of documents
  • Monitoring and executing full cycle of distribution
  • Providing Workforce engagement and buy-in of sustainable Document Control strategy, processes, and policies
  • Integrating Document Control System into DDMI record keeping systems for document archiving in conjunction with Life of Mine and Closure requirements
  • Meeting conformance of HSEQMS Standards for Document Control and Management of Change (MOC)
  • Managing document control aspect for administration of the business intranet for the purpose of sharing controlled documents
  • DDMI Retention Schedule – management, ensure compliance (per Rio Tinto schedule), seek amendments as needed
  • Maintaining the DDMI site operations documents and drawings rooms as requested
  • Performing sign in and sign out of controlled documents
  • Performing additional project work assigned and approved by the Supervisor, PL&CMX
What you’ll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Education in a related field is required
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in systems support role
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in document control or record management related role
  • Proficient with all Microsoft office applications
  • Proficient with SharePoint or Workspace, will be highly regarded
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively resolve problems and make sound decisions
