Job Description

Do YOU have the Frontier Spirit If the answer is yes, you should probably work with us.Description:ATCO Frontec is seeking a Finance Supervisor to join our Operations team in Yellowknife, NT. The Finance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining overall financial and accounting records including AR/AP and payroll and verifies the procedures used for recording financial transactions. The position will lead a team of 3-5 support staff and oversee budget tracking and reporting requirements for various projectsResponsibility:

  • Provide leadership, supervision, training, mentoring and coaching to the Project Administrators. Delegate tasks and assign workloads effectively. Ensure all duties are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Assembles the monthly Workforce Reporting Report
  • Prepares all daily/weekly/monthly reports as required
  • Verifies and posts purchase invoices and debit notes. Ensures that the entries have correct department codes, information and amounts
  • Follows controls that all regular monthly invoices are posted to the corresponding month and vendor
  • Reviews and balances the monthly reports, addressing any discrepancies
  • Verifies bi-weekly payroll entry, prepares the bi-weekly file for submission
  • Raises purchase orders in accordance with the applicable policy requirements
  • Completes various month end reporting and communicates department month end requirements each month
  • Prepares monthly financial forecast and reviews monthly financials to prepare synopsis of key items
  • Transmits formal documents through approved document control process, working with both the client and ATCO platforms
  • Draft letters and official response to the Client and Sub-Contractors (where appropriate)
  • Creates and maintains a project specific contract register, highlight financial status of all contracts
  • Assists ATCO Supply Chain with Sub-Contracts if issues or special circumstances arise. May also support ATCO Supply Chain when requested
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or administration preferred
  • 2+ years experience in a supervisory accounting, finance, or accounts payable/receivable role
  • Prior experience working with Oracle an asset
  • Prior experience working with Kronos an asset
  • Prior experience in Document Control an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and courteous demeanor
  • Detail oriented, organized and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment
  • Proficient using MS Office programs, including Outlook, Word and Excel
