Job Description

Old Town Glassworks, Worker’s Cooperative, is hiring! We are a dynamic, creative, and environmentally conscious team that offers great customer service. We pride ourselves in our beautiful hand-made glassware and delightful glass-making workshops.We are looking for full and part-time candidates to fill the positions of Office Manager and Production Worker.PRODUCTION WORKER – responsible for making glassware on specialized equipment, maintaining the workshop, and teaching glass-making classes.Starting wage: $20/H*Duties: 1. Oversee bottle acquisition.2. Prepare bottles for line production - soaking and de-labeling.3. Cut, grind, polish, wash, and inspect blank glass product to ensure excellent product quality.4. Apply stencils and sandblast glassware.5. Pay careful attention to detail to ensure excellence in product quality.6. Print vinyl stencils and create photo-resist stencils on specialized equipment.7. Open and close studio and all workspaces effectively and securely (change water prior to shift, heat hot plate, clean workspace, empty sand out of sand blaster, etc.)8. Maintain quality and organization of stencils and glassware.9. Inform facility lead when equipment malfunctions and/or supplies run low.*Training is progressive. Not all of these responsibilities will be asked of you immediately.Skills: 1. Enjoys tactile, hands-on work.2. Organized and detail-orientated.3. Self-directed, focused, and competent to work alone.4. Efficient time manager.5. Good communication skills with team and customers.6. Physically capable of lifting and carrying crates of bottles (up to 25lbs) and 5-gallon water buckets.Additional assets: 1. Creative – crafty and artistic2. Graphic design skills3.
