Limited CompetitionThis job opening is limited to residents living within 25 kilometres of Yellowknife.Department InformationThe Department of Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA), supports capable, accountable and self-directed community governments providing a safe, sustainable and healthy environment for community residents.Job InformationAs the Relief Bilingual Emergency Medical Dispatcher, NWT 9-1-1 (Dispatcher) your primary responsibility will be to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from the public seeking help from police, fire, rescue, or medical services. You will connect callers to available emergency services while providing over-the-phone pre-arrival emergency basic medical instructions such as talking callers though performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or clearing an obstruction from someone’s windpipe.
