Intent of the processThe immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential. This process will only be used to staff positions at Housing Services Center of Yellowknife, and no pool will be established for staffing at other locations.Positions to be filled: 1Information you must provideYour résumé.In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)EDUCATION:

• A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:

• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalencyEXPERIENCE:

• Experience in one of the following:
• Renovation of residential single-family, semi-detached or row housing units.

OR

• Conducting inspections and determining maintenance requirements of residential housing.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)ASSET EDUCATION:

• Possession of a valid journeymans certificate in a residential building trade or certification as an engineering technologist or technician.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of one year experience conducting inspections and determining maintenance requirements of residential housing.
• Equivalent of 5 years experience as a journeyman in a construction domain.
• Experience in Project Management.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Willing and able to travel.
• There is a requirement to limit vacation between the months of May and September.
• Willing and able to go frequently in and out of houses, climb up or down stairs and ladders, and access areas such as crawl spaces or areas with uneven surfaces.
