We strive to create great partnerships with our clients, contractors, and supply chain partners through transparent communications, humble and curious collaboration, and a zealous focus on consistent execution of the most important 20%.Compass is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer SME for our Toronto or Dallas location.The Mechanical Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) is primarily responsible for conducting CFD modeling and coordinating all mechanical design of projects. The SME will interact on a daily basis with Contractors, Designers, Engineers, Commissioning Agents, and Vendors to ensure the successful completion of projects and provide expert support for troubleshootingoperation matters. The SME will interact heavily with the customer as an Mechanical Engineering expert. Must have written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of regular communication.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:- Act as the SME for all Mechanical Engineering-related matters.- Conduct data hall and exterior building CFD modeling.- Coordination with Mechanical Engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project #39;s development.- Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design, and production meetings with regard to mechanical systems.- Assume the mechanical lead on many projects.- Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.- Act as Mechanical SME during schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Design Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines.- Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.- Support all internal Compass stakeholders as needed.- Support the activities of other mechanical engineering professionals, and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed.- Perform other duties as needed.Knowledgeamp; Experience:· Expertise in mechanical engineering a must, with a preference given to individuals with well-rounded CSA and MEP experience· Expertise in data centers or critical environment MEP design and equipment selection.· Proven experience delivering successful, large-scale and complex data center or industrial critical infrastructure (power, oilamp; gas, chemical plants, clean rooms, hospital) projects.· Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, processes, and scheduling a plus.
