UHN is a caring, creative place where amazing people are amazing the world.Position SummaryWe are interested in recruiting ahighly dedicated and motivatedResearch Technicianto join the Kwan laboratory at the Princess Margaret Research Institute. We use molecular biology, genomics,cellandmice models to study side effects ofcancer treatment, such as fibrosis and lymphedema.The goal of the research program is to develop novel personalized approaches for the prevention and treatment of long-term and late effects of cancer treatment.The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.Duties- Cell culture, lentiviral transduction, CRISPR gene editing, flow cytometry- DNA/RNA extraction, quantitative real-time PCR- ELISAs, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence- Mouse handling,I.P.injection,venipuncture- Assistswithlaband animal use protocol submissions- Orders andmaintainsinventories of supplies, animals, and/or equipment- Communicate analysis in verbal, written, and graphical formatQualifications- Candidates must have at minimum anMSc inMolecularBiologyor relevant field of study- At least 3 years of experience with nucleicacid isolation,quantitative real-time PCR, ELISAs, western blotting,immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence,cell culture, lentiviral transduction, CRISPR gene editing, flow cytometry, and mouse handling- Experience withIncucyte,X-RAD 225Cx,FluorescenceMicroscopy,and/orGraphPadare assets- Willingness to learnnewtechniques and technologies- Abilityto work accurately and meet deadlinesInterested applicants shouldsubmittheir CV, contact information of three referees (including current/former supervisors), and a statement of research interest to Dr. Kwan (jennifer.kwan@uhn.c (jennifer.kwan@uhn.ca) a).Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.Why join UHNIn addition to working alongside some of the most talented and inspiring healthcare professionals in the world, UHN offers a wide range of benefits, programs and perks.
