The company was founded in 2011 and has offices in Dallas, Toronto and Dublin.Opportunity:We are growing and looking for the next member of our Data Center Solutions Engineering team! The Solution Engineering team supports our global sales team and works at the center of all technical due diligence and design validation for all customer engagements. Your primary role is to ensure all customers #39; technical needs are matched to Compass standard product offering and any deviations are fully understood, documented, and signed off across the business.You will work in a highly collaborative environment, across all business functions and departments, leading the understanding and development of all customers #39; technical requirements. You will manage the process for all technical validation to ensure repeatable and scalable solutions are aligned with Compass Strategic Anchors and business objectives.The individual in this role will also act as the Subject Matter Expert for customer engagements related to the data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure, security, connectivity, and controls. The Solutions Engineer will serve as a customer advocate across all teams and ensure the customer needs are understood.Qualified candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in colocation, hosting, facilities, mission-critical construction, electrical and /or mechanical industrial design, or related fields. The position also requires direct experience in sales/solutions engineering and/or design and construction of mission-critical facilities. Candidates should be self-starters that can thrive in a fast-paced, collegial environment. Travel will be required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Supporting the global sales team in all technical sales and solutions in all markets.- Directing all technical engagements, leading site tours, technical calls and presentations, leading discussions for technical tradeoffs and negotiations.- Developing customized business lenses and specific customer needs, building customer presentations.- Acting as primary liaison between departments during technical validations.- Designing, presenting, and evaluating customer-specific customization.- Responding to customer RRI/RFPs. Providing input and support for construction projects.- Developing systems to enable Poka Yoke based sales technical and training materials with high emphasis on self-discovery for our internal teams.Additional Responsibilities:- Liaising with the professional community; attending technical forums and industry events as required.- Monitoring and evaluating trends in prospect, customer, and target tenant base.- Consulting on new equipment and design to maintain continuous improvement on product development.Disclaimer:Compass is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
