Job Description

Position SummaryWorking within the Human Resources department and reporting to the Human Resources Manager the Human Resources Administrator will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees. Your main administrative duties include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g., employment records and onboarding guides) and updating internal databases. What you’ll do
  • Organize and maintain personnel records, enter new data, and update previous employee data in internal HR Databases.
  • Update HRIS databases (e.g., record sick or maternity leave)
  • Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates)
  • Answer employees queries about HR-related issues.
  • Order and maintain office supplies for HR department.
  • Participate in HR projects (e.g., help organize a job fair event)
  • Supports HR Projects and Initiatives
  • Runs basic and standardized HR Reports as needed.
  • Assist recruiters, and other HR staff with activities, such as onboarding of new recruits.
  • Answer any employee queries about people or HR-related issues, and help them resolve them internally, if possible
  • Publish and update job ads on careers pages
  • Schedule interviews
  • Experience working with and securing highly confidential information;
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager, Director, or the CAO
What you bring
  • 2+ years’ experience in an office environment
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS software preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize timelines.
  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication and customer service skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including; time management, organizational, planning and people skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, risk management and cost control skills.
  • Knowledge of collecting and analyzing data, and ability to produce reports.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations as needed
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to provide services in a prompt, respectful and unbiased manner, in accordance with existing Seabird Island Band policies and procedures.
  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook).
  • Excellent active listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to Oath of Confidentiality and Seabird Island Band Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledge, respect and understanding of Stó:lō culture, traditions and language is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License, Class 5.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
