Job Description

At Elmers, we’ve been equipping farmers with innovative solutions for over 40 years. Owning and operating our own farm we understand what farmers need and want out of our products and our company. Harvest after harvest, our mission is to produce world-class farm equipment for the needs of the progressive farmer.To meet the growing demand for our product we’re currently seeking a Jig & Tool Technician. In this position you will form various production components and ensure quality work is maintained through every step.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Fabricate jigs and fixtures to support manufacturing processes.
  • Modify existing jigs and fixtures to improve their performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure jigs and fixtures meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
  • Test and inspect jigs and fixtures to ensure that they are functioning properly.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production employees to identify areas for improvement in the manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical support in the proper use and maintenance of jigs and fixtures.
  • Maintain accurate records of jig and fixture performance and maintenance.
  • Manage the inventory of jigs, fixtures, and parts to ensure that adequate supplies are available for production.
We’re looking for:
  • Experience in metal fabrication of precision components using MIG welding, saw, drill, lathe, and mill.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong numeracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative with assigned duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify production needs and quality requirements.
  • Experience with CNC machining will be considered an asset.
  • Computer skills including CAD experience would be considered an asset.
