ANCASTER LEGACY FOOTBALL CLUB Paid Duties Description – Recreational CoachContract Description – Recreational CoachBackgroundAncaster Legacy Football Club operates as a non-profit soccer club and wishes to offer its members the highest possible administration support to meet the expectations of the athletes, coaches and parents of AncasterLegacy’s programs.Recreational Coaches are a vital role within the organization with the principal responsibility of coaching teams and training sessions during the outdoor recreational program.Job SummaryThe Recreational Coach will be responsible for various duties throughout the HL season, working with ALFC’s team to ensure that each child’s experience in our House League program is consistent, enjoyable, and enriching.The ideal candidate would be an individual familiar with recreational soccer programs and a knowledge of youth soccer, in order to facilitate best practices for all age groups to learn and have fun. The candidate will be a key part of our recreational program and should be available Monday to Thursday evenings and some weekends.Implementation of soccer training sessions and managing games appropriate for youth age groups is a key component of the role. Coaching courses are an asset.Job Responsibilities & DutiesMay-August:

  • Field and Training set up when required (nets, cones)
  • Lead training sessions and coach matches
  • Work with the recreational convenor, staff and volunteers as appropriate
  • Ensure the ALFC Recreational curriculum is being delivered consistently and appropriately to players for an experience focused on development and fun.
  • Communicate important details parents.
  • Identify appropriate players for additional ALFC programs.
Job Requirements
  • Strong familiarity with the sport of soccer.
  • Playing, refereeing and/or coaching experience, preferably with some recreational coaching experience.
  • Available Monday to Thursday evenings, and some weekends.
  • Optional, but Asset: Coaching licenses; up to and including Canada Soccer Youth License or Provincial C License, but Soccer for Life, Active Start, Fundamentals also are assets.
  • A Pre-Season Coaches Meeting Overview & Training for the program with our Recreational Convenor & Technical Director.
ANCASTER LEGACY FOOTBALL CLUB Paid Duties Description – Recreational CoachPosition TypeThis is a contract position; beginning May 16th and ending in August, with a paid orientation session with our Technical Director and Recreational Convenor to be scheduled.Age GroupRecreational age groups that you will be responsible for overseeing may range from U4 up to U18 years old, for both boys & girls.Estimated Hours
