Aspire Bakeries champions the values of Integrity, Ownership, Customer Focus, Creativity and Care to help us deliver on People Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Collaboration.Job TitleGeneral LabourerReporting toLeadhand and Production SupervisorPosition PurposeThis position is responsible for ensuring food is up to quality standard and running through equipment properly.Key AccountabilitiesEnsuring food quality along with standard productivity.ResponsibilitiesArrive to work on time and with all tools to perform taskMake sure to have a garbage pail prior to start upEnsure food being produced /packaged adheres to quality specificationsEnsure waste or defective food goes into correct containersKeep work area clean and tidy throughout shift and after shiftWork closely to LeadhandLeave work area in good condition at the end of shiftEnsure food meets specificationsEnsure a clean work area throughout the shiftWork closely to Machine Operator and other crew membersEnsure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality and qualityAdhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in SOP manualAdhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in employee handbookKeep work area clean and clear of hazardsReport any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to supervisor immediatelyUse all prescribed personal protective equipmentEnsure GMP’s and safe food handling practices are being followedAll tools to be cleaned and maintained in good repair. Report any broken, damaged, or missing tools to your supervisor. Do not discard any damaged or broken tools.Follow all GMPs including maintaining personal hygiene, handwashing/sanitizing hands, clean up spills (ie: ingredients, water, debris and wood)Report any foreign material findings to your supervisorAs part of food security, report any unusual people or behaviours to your supervisorPerform all other duties as assignedSkills, Experience & QualificationsMust work with speed and accuracy to keep up with the production processService oriented - high need to pleaseLevel headed - does not overreact under stressEffective communicatorPunctualTeam playerMust be dependableMust have excellent attendance and work habitsGMP and safety awarenessEducation, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency LevelRequiredN/APreferredHigh school diploma or quivalentPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
