We acknowledge all Nations who live, work, and play, help us steward this land, and honour and celebrate this place.The OpportunityWe are looking for someone with an interest and aptitude in mechanical systems to join our team of experienced tradespeople.The 5th class power engineer is a key member of the Physical Facilities department and will work to keep our campus and facilities operating smoothly. This position oversees the running maintenance of pumps, motors, fans, air filters, and other equipment related to heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, identifying any equipment in need of repair or replacement. The power engineers maintain a recorded history of maintenance for each piece of equipment at Banff Centre, preparing written reports of defects requiring attention, and sourcing and ordering replacement parts and materials as needed. The power engineers are also responsible for testing water and performing chemical treatment of all water systems outside of the main plant. Tasks and work locations across campus will vary daily, so the Power Engineers are expected to prioritize their daily work and work efficiently.We #39;re looking for someone who is able to complete Banff Centre training within a prescribed timeframe in order to successfully attain an Engineer 5th class certification.
