Job Description

Company BioQuinte Health Care (QHC) is a progressive and integrated system of four hospitals working with partners to provide exceptional care to their local communities.Care is provided through four hospitals – Belleville General Hospital, North Hastings Hospital, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, and Trenton Memorial Hospital – and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three hospitals, a rehabilitation day hospital, children’s treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs, and a range of diagnostic services.   • Grade 12 education or equivalent education with working experience.
  • General office skills in operating fax, photocopiers.
  • Good communication skills / telephone skills.
  • Ability to learn new task as they are implemented ie software changes /equipment upgrades etc.
  • Ability to work independently and meet the strict start times within the department
  • Must be able to multi task and trouble shoot as issues arise.
  • Must have up to date computer skills.
  • Ability to work within all software programs as designed for the department and by other departments to maintain and meet the needs of the patients and staff at all locations.
  • To work within more than one software program at any one time.
Duties
  • Processes though software system all meals /nourishments tickets, tally guides and all other related documents and or reports required and must meet strict time lines
  • Maintains and updates patient diet profiles
  • Must visit with patients at the bedside using a laptop/handheld computer, meeting the standards as set by the department in completing meal request in a timely manner
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize many functions throughout the day.
  • Ability to work with and communicate with all professions within the organization ie: dieticians/nursing .
  • Process internal food request and related enquires by utilizing present software, and reviewing with Team Leaders.
  • Ability to work with the team and maintain professionalize at all times.
  • Ability to learn and understand all diet types, textures and food allergies.
  • Attends all department/hospital in-service orientation & other meetings as required
  • Performs scheduling duties and calls in’s for uniform staff at 3 sites (BG/Picton/Trenton) as per the collective agreements and documents accordingly
  • Maintain QHC policies, procedures and objectives for quality assurance and safety
  • Maintain complete confidentiality
  • Performs all work in accordance with QHC and regulatory safety procedures and requirements including provincial and local agencies
  • Performs clerical functions as required for Food Service Staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned
