Job Description

Do you like Mexican food, teamwork, and a fun, family-friendly environment Then Chilangos is looking for you!Chilangos Mexican Restaurant started at the Belleville Waterfront & Multicultural Festival ten years ago. Its a family-owned Mexican food restaurant recognized for its authentic dishes, great atmosphere, and excellent customer service. Were seeking Grillers to continue operating at our high standards and join our incredible team.Requirements:What will it take to become our ideal candidate

  • You preferably have at least 1 year of cooking experience. Its an asset if you have a Culinary certification.
  • You have Food Handler Certification.
  • You follow instructions and perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
  • You are a team player, energetic, respectful, responsible, accountable, reliable, committed, and a good communicator.
  • You are motivated to create the best customer experience possible.
  • You remain calm and motivated in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
  • You can work in a standing position, bending and moving around for long periods and lift and/or move up to fifty lbs.
  • You can work in high temperatures.
  • You have the flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
Role and responsibilitiesWhat are some of the core activities youll be performing
  • Youll prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment, according to the Restaurants recipes, portioning, cooking, Food Safety Guidelines and serving standards.
  • Youll ensure that food comes out simultaneously and promptly.
  • Youll handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
  • Youll perform other opening and/or closing duties and clean and maintain the kitchen workstations in optimal conditions.
  • Youll clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc. If required to continue kitchen operations.
  • Youll perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
  • Youll inform the Kitchen Manager of any inventory shortages or situations that might violate the restaurant policies, rules, or procedures.
