Job Description

Company BioQuinte Health Care (QHC) is a progressive and integrated system of four hospitals working with partners to provide exceptional care to their local communities.Care is provided through four hospitals – Belleville General Hospital, North Hastings Hospital, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, and Trenton Memorial Hospital – and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three hospitals, a rehabilitation day hospital, children’s treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs, and a range of diagnostic services.   • Graduate of an accredited Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
  • A current CPR certificate or willing to obtain within 3 months of effective date.
  • Minimum of 200 hours working in direct PTA/OTA patient care situations with neurological and/or orthopaedic conditions within the last 12 months (may include student placement hours).
  • Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) available to review)
Duties
  • Participates in daily huddles and assignment reviews with therapy team.
  • Able to work, after orientation, in medical, surgical, inpatient & outpatient rehab and ICU settings.
  • Carries out individual and group rehabilitation programs as established by the Therapist.
  • Informs the Therapist of patient’s response to treatment plan.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to move patients towards their goals for discharge.
  • Maintains records of patient care per practice standards.
  • Maintains tidy and safe treatment areas.
  • Performs administrative & other duties as required.
