Job Description

We are also the exclusive distributor of Italy’s finest Rio Mare, Lavazza and San Benedetto products in Canada.Position Summary:Reporting to VP, Operations, the Plant Manager is responsible for delivering all manufacturing and production activities at the plant, while driving a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation. The Plant Manager provides strategic and daily coaching to the plant leadership team such that the site meets and exceeds key performance indicators for safety, quality, cost, customer service and environment.Key Accountabilities:

  • Continue to build on a plant culture grounded in Sofina values and beliefs, fostering a harmonious team spirit with common objectives and clear communications for all employees.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety through the development of strategies focused on risk reduction and nurturing a culture of interdependence. Ensure compliance to all OHS and environmental regulatory and corporate standards. Root Cause analysis for near misses and incidents, including the development of systemic fixes and standards to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Oversee the effective application and improvement of QA programs and processes to ensure product quality is consistently delivered. Ensure programs and processes are current, functional and comply with company standards and government regulations.
  • Deliver continuous improvement in plant cost structure. Accountable for product yield, labour efficiency and production expenses – variable and fixed both.
  • Drive continuous improvement in plant throughput and volume growth through a focus on process reliability and utilization of AM/PM/FI standards
Requirements:
  • Related post-secondary degree coupled with a minimum of 5 years in plant or technical management experience preferably within the Food Processing industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive people capability development and proven success in leading high performing teams.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering continuous improvement.
  • Well-developed communication skill and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to implement improvement plans, with a key focus on the development of standards for the operating employees.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with an ability to translate business strategy into practical application.
  • Collaborative leadership qualities with the ability to solicit advice from others, take charge and act with urgency, and make sound business decisions.
