Your challenge!Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the paper machine, ensuring that all regulatory and developmental needs of the departments are met, and that all activities are conducted in accordance to the Cascades Operating philosophy.Job ResponsibilitiesManage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime;Oversee the hourly workforce across all departments including; Production, Shipping and Maintenance;Manage, develop and guide a team of six Supervisors;Determine KPIs and measure them on a regular basis including OEE and Waste;Lead the safety culture within the plant and ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines;Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity;Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels;Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work in conjunction with the Maintenance SupervisorDevelop and implement an effective, documented training program and ensure the training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques;Implement strategies to increase production output, product quality and on-time delivery;Build and maintain a trusting relationship with employees and communicate about performance expectationsDesired experience2-5 years experience in a manufacturing environmentAdequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, and inventory management.Computer literacy; experience with SAP and CTI an asset.Ability to create accountability and to lead by exampleStrong team building, decision-making and people management skillsBachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field an assetCore competenciesCustomer CentricityCoachingDecision-makingManagerial CourageTeam Leadership#revealyourpotential #LifeAtCascadesCascades believes in the success of an inclusive organization that values diversity within its team.
