Company BioQuinte Health Care (QHC) is a progressive and integrated system of four hospitals working with partners to provide exceptional care to their local communities.Care is provided through four hospitals – Belleville General Hospital, North Hastings Hospital, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, and Trenton Memorial Hospital – and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three hospitals, a rehabilitation day hospital, children’s treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs, and a range of diagnostic services. Visit www.bayofquinte.ca to learn more about the region.Position SummaryReporting to HR Leadership, the Recruitment and, Retention Specialist is an energetic and influential professional who is a QHC ambassador for recruitment and retention and staff wellness. The Specialist will proactively drive and carry out innovative recruitment and retention strategies for QHC. The primary focus of this role initially is to identify opportunities to enhance our recruitment strategy, create and foster relationships with community resources and educational institutions, and design and develop QHC’s job campaigns to strengthen the organizations presence in the job market.Hours, Travel & FlexibilityThe primary hours of work are Monday through Friday (days) and the average work week is 37.5 hours. Flexibility is required to work an occasional evening or weekend to attend events related to the role. Inter-site and off-site travel will be required and the incumbent must have reliable access to transportation. Staff are able to claim mileage expenses as per the corporate policy. The incumbent will have some ability to flex between on-site and remote work in this role.Interview ProcessThose selected for an interview will be asked to submit a video highlighting why you are the ideal ambassador and influencer for this role.   • Successful completion of post-secondary studies in Communications/Public Affairs/Public Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Sales & Marketing or another relevant area of study;
  • Minimum of 3-years’ experience in a related role;
  • Experience with marketing/advertising via social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook);
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/influence in a team environment;
  • A creative and innovative thinker;
  • Exceptional presentation, communication and organizational skills;
  • Experience with planning and organizing large functions;
  • Experience in presenting to large audiences (virtually and in-person);
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement projects and process improvements;
  • Strong technical skills including Microsoft office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, and video conference software (e.g. zoom, Microsoft teams); and
  • Flexibility with hours of work to support and attend Recruitment events (internal and external to the organization).
Preferred
  • Experience with creation and generation of advertisements using tools such as Canva;
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (such as Njoyn) and a Human Resources Information System; and
  • Experience with website development and updates.
Duties
  • Develop creative methods for raising the profile of Quinte Health Care from a recruitment and retention perspective;
  • Develop and implement a short and long-term Recruitment Strategy for the organization inclusive of coordination and planning of events (job fairs, career days and open houses, etc.) and fostering key contacts/relationships (internal and external to the organization);
  • Develop and implement a short and long-term Student Strategy to generate increased student placements in key careers and long-term human resource succession management;
  • Develop and implement a Retention Strategy that provides for a positive and healthy work environment and is centered around staff appreciation and recognition (e.g. service award coordination and events) and wellness programs;
  • Research and conduct analysis of best practices for staff recruitment, retention and wellness;
  • Develop and deliver presentations to potential candidates, contacts and stakeholders;
  • Coordinates government funded programs related to recruitment & retention, including the New Graduate Guarantee & Internationally Educated Nurse Initiative;
  • Assist with retirements for the organization;
  • Monitor and track progress on each strategy using technical tools and report progress to HR Leadership;
  • Establish strategic links with appropriate stakeholders as they relate to the strategies, staff and student needs;
  • Conduct surveys of newly hired staff, longer-serving staff, separations, transfers and retirements and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies;
  • Develop a marketing plan that may include brochures, advertisements, event posters, TikTok and videos to implement recruitment and retention strategies;
  • Update and maintain recruitment and student information on intranet, external website and social networks;
  • Handle sensitive material in accordance with established policies; and
  • Other duties as assigned by HR leadership.
