Job Description

Job DescriptionCEDA is currently hiring 1 Journeyman, Heavy Duty Mechanic for our town shop in Bonnyville. This is a full time position open to candidates local to the Bonnyville region, or willing to relocate.Can provide a temporary room in company housing until you find a place to live)Willing to consider 3rd or 4th Year Heavy Dity ApprenticeWhat we offer

  • Journeyman rates: $42 - $54 per hour (based on experience)

  • Full time, year round work in clean, organized and well equipped shop that is located in town.
  • Variety of equipment to work on: from skid steers to T amp;E Pumps on pressure and vacuum equipment (Cummins, Paccar, and loaders too!)
  • Safety is number 1: we watch out for one another and pride ourselves in doing the work right the first time
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preventative maintenance on Vacuum trucks, Combos, Water Trucks, Tankers, Skid-steers and Pressure Trucks
  • Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps
  • Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
  • Interpret work orders
  • Occasionally attend service calls in the field
  • Work alongside apprentices and assist in their development
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned
Role Specifications
  • Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman required
  • or registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Valid Class 5 license with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
  • Class 1 or 3 license considered an asset
  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset
  • Experience troubleshooting emission system issues using diagnostic software (typically Cummins) is an asset
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Able to provide your own tools
Skills
  • You’re happiest working in a team and getting the job done safely, as well as working independently on various projects in the shop
  • Your knowledge of T amp;E pumps and Cummins, CAT, and Paccar engines would set you up for success
  • You’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs
  • Tech savvy enough to work the diagnostics
  • Good communication skills, enjoy doing precision work, and solving problems
